In the comparison of Zizyphus jujuba wood and Sophora japonica wood, the latter is generally considered better due to its higher tensile strength and durability. Zizyphus jujuba wood, commonly known as jujube wood, is known for its flexibility and is often used in furniture making and construction. However, Sophora japonica wood, or Japanese pagoda tree wood, offers superior mechanical properties, making it more suitable for structural applications. According to a study published in the Journal of Wood Science, Sophora japonica wood has a tensile strength of 80 MPa, which is significantly higher than the tensile strength of Zizyphus jujuba wood, which is around 60 MPa. This higher tensile strength makes Sophora japonica wood less prone to cracking and warping, enhancing its longevity and suitability for heavy-duty applications.
